Ms. Ressler is the founder, current School Director, and PDSO (Primary Designated School
Official, SEVP, USCIS) of the Atlanta English Institute (AEI). Established in 1993, AEI is the oldest
private language school in Atlanta, Georgia, and in 2003 the first such school accredited by the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Commission on International and Trans-
Regional Accreditation (SACS CITA). In 2013, AEI was accredited (and reaccredited in 2018
through 2028) by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), a
specialized, rigorous, Intensive English accreditation body recognized by U.S. Dept. of
Education. AEI has a reputation for providing superior English instruction to students from all
over the world and has served more than 28,000 international students and professionals since
the school’s inception.
Ms. Ressler has also served AEI as an instructor, Dean of Students, Admissions Officer, and
Operations Director.
Before moving full time into administration, Julie taught beginner through advanced ESL
students, both in Korea and the United States.
In addition to her administrative and teaching work, Ms. Ressler has inspired the immigrant
community to press into their best future. For example, Julie hosted a daily ESL live morning
radio show for three years on Atlanta Radio Korea. Ms. Ressler has also contributed to the
academic advancement of her profession. She presented her work, 'A Holistic Approach to
English Grammar', at the 2004 Southeast TESOL Conference in Nashville, Tennessee and served
as an AdvancED (SACS CASI) accreditation External Review Team Member. Moreover, Ms.
Ressler has participated in numerus accreditation workshops and industry conferences and
served as AEI’s Self-Study Coordinator for the school’s CEA accreditation process.
In all her roles, Ms. Ressler is both caring and detail oriented. Perhaps most dear to her heart,
Julie covets being able to provide high-quality counseling and guidance to her non-native
English-speaking students.
Ms. Ressler’s inspirational story has been featured by local newspapers and a magazine. Julie
holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Linguistics from HoNam University in
S. Korea.
